Out of the many animals that humans utilize as a source of food, Pigs are amongst if not the worst treated animals out of them all. As the demand for pig meat (pork) has been on the rise for the last several decades, Commercial Pig Farming has shown record numbers of poor & negligent care & extensive abuse of these animals. It is anear average practice for pig farmers to cut off pigs' tails, testes or teeth of pigs without any type of anaesthetic.  Most pigs are officially entitled to less than one square meter of space each for the entirety of their lives. Massive environmental impacts have become a side-effect of commercal pig farming as problems such as polluted drinking water and algal bloom events start to happen when these pigs are packed tightly together in unsanitary confined spaces.
