Peppermint Angelfish - Canvas
The Waikiki Aquarium recently acquired a rare prize: a deepwater peppermint angelfish collected during a research expedition funded by the Smithsonian Institute. Collectors have offered prices as high as $30,000 for the exotic fish, the only one in captivity available for public viewing. The peppermint angelfish was first formally described in 1992 by John Ernest Randall (1924–2020) and Richard Pyle.
