Fanjing - Canvas

Fanjing - Canvas

The Fanjingshan or Mount Fanjing, located in Tongren, Guizhou province, China, is the highest peak of the Wuling Mountains in southeastern China, at an elevation of 8,430 ft. Fanjingshan is a sacred mountain in Chinese Buddhism, considered to be the bodhimaṇḍa of the Maitreya Buddha. Home to some of the most isolated temples in the world, Mount Fanjing is a sight to be marveled.

It is not entirely known when the first temples were built at Fanjingshan, but historians suggest that they may have been constructed during the Tang Dynasty in the 7th century AD.
