Conch are a species of hard-shell sea-snails. Due to it's unique shape & structure, the conch shell is commonly used as a musical instrument. Among the oldest surviving conch shell trumpets are those that were used in the Mediterranean region, some of which date to the Neolithic period, between 6000 B.C. and 3000 B.C.
